The American Breed - Bend Me Shape Me

You are all the woman I need
And baby you know it
(Know it, know it, know it)
You can make this beggar a king
A clown or a poet
(Poet, poet, poet)
I'll give you all that I own
You got me standing in line
Out in the cold
Pay me some mind

Bend me, shape me
Anyway you want me
Long as you love me
It's all right
Bend me, shape me
Anyway you want me
You got the power to turn on the light

Everybody tells me I'm wrong
To want you so badly
(Badly, badly, badly)
But there's a force driving me on
I follow it gladly
(Gladly, gladly, gladly)
So let them laugh I don't care
'Cause I got nothing to hide
All that I want is you by my side

Bend me, shape me
Anyway you want me
Long as you love me
It's all right
Bend me, shape me
Anyway you want me
You got the power
To turn on the light

Yeah, bend me, shape me
Anyway you want me
Long as you love me
It's all right
Bend me, shape me
Anyway you want me
You got the power
To turn on the light

Herman’s Hermits - Silhouttes

Frontman was Peter Noone. De door hem geproduceerde eerste single “I"m into something good” (augustus 1964) werd meteen nummer 1 in Engeland. In Amerika stond “Walkin’ with my baby” op de flipside, in Europa was dat “Can’t you hear my heart beat”.

Johnny Kendall - St. James Infirmary

Well I went to the Saint James Infirmary
And I saw my baby there
She was laying on a long, white table
So cold, so sweet, so fair

Let her go, let her go, God bless her
Wherever she may be
She can search this wide world over
But she'll never find such a little man like me

When I die, bury me in straight-leg shoes
And box-back suit, double cross ...
Put a twenty-dollar gold piece on my gravestone
So the boys know I die standing pat

Let her go, let her go, God bless her
Wherever she may be
She can search this wide world over
But she'll never find such a little man like me

When I die, bury me in fine laced shoes
A box-back coat, Stetson hat
Put a twenty-dollar gold piece on my gravestone
So the boys will know I'm standing pat

Let her go, let her go, God bless her
Wherever she may be
She can search this wide world over
But she'll never find such a little man like me
But she'll never find such a little man like me

The Beatles - Rock and roll music/No reply

De single “Rock and roll music”/“No reply” werd alleen in ons land uitgebracht.

Marty Robbins - Devil Woman

I told Mary about us, I told her about a great sin
Mary cried and forgave me then Mary took me back again
Said if I wanted my freedom I could be free ever more
But I don't want to be and I don't want to see Mary cry anymore.

Oh, Devil woman
Devil woman let go of me
Devil woman let me be
Leave me alone, I want to go home.

Mary is waiting and weeping down in our shack by the sea
Even after I hurt her Mary's still in love with me
Devil woman it's over, trapped no more by your charm
'Cause I don't want to stay, I want to get away, woman let go of my arm.

Oh, Devil woman
Devil woman let go of me
Devil woman let me be
And leave me alone, I want to go home.

Devil woman your evil like the dark coral reef
Like the winds that bring high tides you bring sorrow and grief
You made me ashamed to face Mary, Mary had the strength to tell
Skies are not so black, Mary took me back, Mary has broken your spell.

Oh, Devil woman
Devil woman let go of me
Devil woman let me be
And leave me alone I want to go home.

Running along by the seashore, running as fast as I can
Even the seagulls are happy, glad I'm coming home again
Never again will I ever 'cause another tear to fall
Down the beach I see what belongs to me, the one I want most of all.

Oh, Devil Woman, Devil woman let go of me
Devil woman don't follow me and leave me alone
I going back home...

Tom Jones - It’s not unusual

In 1963 werd Tom zanger van Tommy Scott and the Senators.

Simon and Garfunkel - Hazy Shade of Winter

Time, time, time, see what's become of me
While I looked around for my possibilities
I was so hard to please

But look around
Leaves are brown
And the sky is a hazy shade of winter

Hear the salvation army band
Down by the riverside's, it's bound to be a better ride
Than what you've got planned, carry your cup in your hand

And look around
Leaves are brown now
And the sky is a hazy shade of winter

Oh hang on to your hopes, my friend
That's an easy thing to say but if your hopes should pass away
Simply pretend that you can build them again

Look around
The grass is high, the fields are ripe
It's the springtime of my life

Oh seasons change with the scenery
Weaving time in a tapestry
Won't you stop and remember me at any convenient time?

Funny how my memory skips
While looking over manuscripts
Of unpublished rhyme, drinking my vodka and lime

I look around
Leaves are brown now
And the sky is a hazy shade of winter

Look around
Leaves are brown
There's a patch of snow on the ground

Look around
Leaves are brown
There's a patch of snow on the ground

Look around
Leaves are brown
There's a patch of snow on the ground

The Hollies - Yes I will

“Yes I will” werd geschreven door de Amerikaanse liedjesschrijvers Gerry Goffin and Russ Titelman. Het kwam in de zomer van 1966 als “I’ll be true to you” terecht op hun debuutalbum “the Monkees”. The Hollies bestaan nog steeds.

Art Garfunkel - Bright Eyes

Is it a kind of dream,
Floating out on the tide,
Following the river of death downstream,
Oh, is it a dream?

There's a fog along the horizon,
A strange glow in the sky,
And nobody seems to know where you go,
And what does it mean?
Oh, is it a dream?

Bright eyes,
Burning like fire.
Bright eyes,
How can you close and fail?
How can the light that burned so brightly
Suddenly burn so pale?
Bright eyes.

Is it a kind of shadow,
Reaching into the night,
Wandering over the hills unseen,
Or is it a dream?

There's a high wind in the trees,
A cold sound in the air,
And nobody ever knows when you go,
And where do you start,
Oh, into the dark?

Bright eyes,
burning like fire.
Bright eyes,
how can you close and fail?
How can the light that burned so brightly
Suddenly burn so pale?
bright eyes.

Bright eyes,
burning like fire.
Bright eyes,
how can you close and fail?
How can the light that burned so brightly
Suddenly burn so pale?
Bright eyes.
